IV. 'My time in Moldova has been very enlightening. Having found my
translator Viorica through IVA, I was able to cover an
incredible
amount of data collection and research in a very short
amount of time.
With the help of my IVA translator, I interviewed members of
the
three major Moldovian NGOs dealing with Roma Rights, had a
home stay
with a socially important Roma figure, and traveled to the
North and
South of the country to visit people of relevance to my
research
project. If IVA had
not been so helpful with providing lodging, a
space with internet access, and my wonderful translator,
then I would
not have been nearly so successful with my research, nor
would I have
found a Romanian language teacher for such a reasonable
price!'. Also with IVA support we we expand our study in Romania and Hungary.

III. MY IVA INTERNSHIP IN MOLDOVA

working in the orphanage and assisting in the classes of logopedy.
I also had the opportunity to practice my russian and I started with romanian. During this time I travelled little bit through Moldova and Romania. Chişinău is nice city with many parks, lakes and surprisingly really clean. Moldova is for me the country of wine and many water wells.

I. Italian volunteer in Moldova march 2010 experience
It was a great
experience to collaborate with Nicolae Cirpala from IVA. When I joined his
association I didn’t know what to expect. As soon as I knew Nicolae I
understood that he’s a great leader, with amazing social skills, with an
uncommon sensibility, cleverness, creativity and sense of humor.
I spent one month in
Chisinau working at IVA, it was a unique period. Every day I learned a lot of
things, especially the one that are not written in any books. I got in touch
with different types of people and every single person gave me precious teachings.
Staying in Chisinau
for me it was a 360° experience: learn the know-how of fundraising, teach
Italian in an orphanage, explore the Moldavian culture and get in touch with
local, lovely people. The world needs people like Nicolae and in general people
who trust that do something better for our populations is possible and is
necessary! If can go back in time, I surely do all again.

The idea of having intern abroad programs are good! Especially because it offers a lot of fun filled memories.
